Lux Grand Gaube Resort celebrates Mauritius reopening with new experiences

Lux Grand Gaube Resort & Villas in Mauritius has unveiled a trio of Collectable Experiences to celebrate the destination’s reopening from July 15.

Vaccinated international travellers are now able to visit the island, staying in one of 14 safe ‘resort bubbles’ for the first 14 days of their trip, as part of the first phase of the destination’s reopening programme.

Full reopening will commence on October 1, whereby travellers will be allowed to enter without restrictions upon presentation of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure.

New experiences at Lux Grand Gaube Resort & Villas on the north side of the island include Hug Me Honey, which centres around the 240,000 honeybees that call the property home.

Guests will join a resident honey expert on a guided tour of the resort’s eight working hives, learning about the natural processes involved in the creation of honey, gaining an inside look at the inner workings of a hive and hearing about the resort’s commitment to nurturing and growing the bee colony into the future.

The experience, which stars from €178 for two guests, will end with a private cooking or cocktail mixing class using locally sourced ingredients. Guests will also be sent home with a beekeeping kit.

Those seeking wellness and self-care can opt for the property's New Habits Wellness Routine experience, which includes a raw cooking master class, daily journaling practice and guided meditations. Prices start from €454 for two guests.

The final experience in the collection is Complete Exclusivity, which offers families or smaller groups the chance to enjoy full privacy and seclusion in one of the property’s private villas or residences.

The experience allows guests to remain in their bubble and features a day trip to private island Ile Des Deux Cocos, where they can snorkel in a protected marine reserve, enjoy a barbecue on the beach with freshly caught seafood and explore The Villa, the islet’s historical landmark once home to the British governor, Sir Hesketh Bell, built in the 1920s.

The Complete Exclusivity experience starts from €573 for two in an Ocean Villa with breakfast and is valid on all stays confirmed before September 30, 2021 for travel in phase two of Mauritius’ reopening strategy between October 1 and December 31, 2021.
