ITC to take 50+ agents on fam trips to mark 50th anniversary

ITC will take more than 50 agents on fam trips later this year as part of the luxury operator’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The company first took customers to Barbados in 1974, when it was known as International Travel Connections.

It developed into ITC Classics in the late 1980s before becoming ITC in 2017 – the overarching brand for Inspiring Travel, Rainbow, Regent and luxury sports tours operator Spectate.

To mark 50 years of trading, ITC has created an Around the World compilation of “50 Experiences for 50 Years” showcasing “bucket-list” holidays and experiences from the ITC brands.

They are designed to help agents navigate the brands, with each including a dedicated marketing toolkit folder for agent use.

ITC is inviting selected partners, advocates and new agent partners to experience the group’s products and will be taking more than 50 agents on various fam trips globally.

More destination events for key trade partners will take place later in the year, when ITC goes on the road around the UK to meet suppliers and partners.

Furthermore, season two of ITC’s Inspiring Travel Podcast launches on Thursday (May 23), with inspiration and expert advice.

The celebrations begin at Chester Racecourse on June 14, when ITC will be joined by invited agents and key partners for a special race day.

Phil Aird-Mash, ITC chief executive, said: “I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of ITC as we celebrate our 50th year of creating tailormade experiences.

“While our story began back in 1974 with our first holidays to the Caribbean, today our group is home to four exceptional brands: Inspiring Travel, Regent, Rainbow and Spectate.

“Our portfolio covers an array of diverse destinations across the world, and I look forward to an exciting future of delivering the most exceptional personalised travel experiences.”

ITC has expanded its trade focus over the last two years. In summer 2022, Inspiring Travel launched an agent sales team solely focused on serving travel agent partners.

In March 2023, Vicky McGlynn joined the trade partnership team in a new role created to manage trade relations in the north and in early 2024, Cheryl Elliott-Edwards joined as trade partnership executive to build the southern region’s trade relations.

Di Selby, trade partnership director at ITC, added, “We’re so thankful to all our business partners for their unwavering support over the years and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone in our journey with them.”
