Iberostar adds five-star hotel in Montenegro

Spanish firm Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has added a five-star hotel in Montenegro to its portfolio.

Iberostar Slavija opened on April 1 and is located close to the medieval town of Budva and Slovenska Beach.

The property features 126 rooms, as well as a spa with sauna, hammam and Turkish bath and a rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of Budva and the Adriatic.

The new-build hotel is 100% electric and will be free of single-use plastics in all areas in line with Iberostar Group’s sustainable strategy to lead a responsible tourism model.

The company has been operating in the Balkan country since 2005. Iberostar Slavija is the group’s third property in Montenegro, joining other hotels in the towns of Herceg Novi and Budva.

Javier Muñoz, Iberostar group operations director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, said: "The opening of this new hotel reinforces our commitment to one of the most important emerging destinations in the Adriatic and confirms our commitment to responsible tourism and to continue offering a quality product to our customers".
