Hard Rock International to open hotel in Portugal

Hard Rock International will open its first hotel in Portugal in summer 2026.

The property, called Hard Rock Hotel Algarve, will be in Praia do Vau, Portimao (pictured) and construction will begin early next year.

The hotel will have 275 rooms and 150 serviced apartments and offer guests direct access to the beach.

It will feature three restaurants, three bars, three outdoor swimming pools, a spa, gym, shop, sports area, beach club and kid’s club.

Hard Rock International said the development will create more than 400 jobs in the area.

Todd Hicko, senior vice-president and head of global hotel development, said: “We’re delighted to expand Hard Rock Hotel’s unparalleled offerings to the beautiful country of Portugal in 2026.

“This new development will further extend the enhanced experience our guests know and love to yet another part of the world while incorporating the country’s amazing culture.”
