Four Seasons opens Fort Lauderdale property

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has opened a new property on the south coast of Florida.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale features 189 guest rooms and suites featuring recessed ceilings, wraparound shelving, brass lamps, polished wood finishes and marine-inspired details.

The hotel’s premier accommodation is the Birch Oceanfront Terrace Suite - named after local legend Taylor Birch, who gifted miles of Fort Lauderdale beachfront - and featuring a fully furnished terrace with direct ocean views.

The property was designed by architect Kobi Karp and is said to have been inspired by the city’s “yachting heritage, winding waterways and lively streets”. Interiors were headed up by Tara Bernard & Partners and reflect the Riviera lifestyle and the “freshness and elegance” of mid-century modernist design.

The hotel features a two-storey lobby and an Ocean Sun Deck home to two horizon-edge pools and the hotel’s signature dining experience, Evelyn’s Fort Lauderdale. The indoor-outdoor restaurant will offer “eastern Mediterranean meets coastal cuisine” from Long Island chef Brandon Saloman.

Other F&B options include beachside dining space Honey Fitz. An additional restaurant concept overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard is expected to debut in autumn 2022.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale also features a stretch of beach dedicated to hotel guests, including a watersports station and a Beach Concierge, and The Spa at Four Seasons. The spa features a Spa Dream aqua bed by Lemi, offering the opportunity to float on a warm water mattress; a full menu of facials incorporating products by by Pietro Simone, QMS Medicosmetics, Tammy Fender, Sodashi, and JetPee; and massages including harmonic healing sound bowls, aromatic oils and a combination of Swedish massage and Thai stretching techniques. The space also offers loungers with salt-wall saunas, aroma steam rooms, ice fountains and a full-service salon.

Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre and complimentary bicycles.

The hotel is situated close to Las Olas Boulevard, NSU Art Museum, the Museum of Discovery and Science and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, where guests can enjoy nature trails, fishing and kayaking.

“Like a picture-perfect postcard, the newest Four Seasons in our growing global portfolio will create an unmatched luxury lifestyle experience – from design to service, and everything in between,” said Four Seasons president Christian Clerc.

“We are setting the stage to experience one of America’s most beloved seaside communities in an entirely new way. Working closely with Nadim Ashi of Fort Hospitality, our visionary owner partner of three additional Four Seasons hotels and residences, we are continuing to raise the bar for luxury hospitality along the South Florida coast.”

General manager Mazen Saleh added: “The opportunity to soak up the sun poolside, spend a day at the beach or head out onto the water is the reason so many are drawn to South Florida.

“We’re matching the energy and spirit you feel here in Fort Lauderdale with the sophisticated touch and legendary service of Four Seasons.”

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale is the brand’s fourth property in south Florida, joining Four Seasons Hotel and Residences at The Surf Club, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, and Four Seasons Hotel Miami.

Additional properties in wider Florida include Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. The company also recently announced plans to transform the legendary Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club on Florida’s Gulf Coast into a Four Seasons experience.
