Four Seasons expands footprint in Egypt with two new hotels

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open two new hotels in Egypt as part of a large-scale project to expand the brand’s footprint in the destination.

The hotel group has partnered with real estate development corporation Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) to open Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Cairo Capital at Madinaty and Four Seasons Hotel Luxor.

Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Cairo Capital at Madinaty is set to open in the heart of New Cairo Capital in 2025.

The property will be located within 460 acres of parkland and will feature 346 rooms and suites. The hotel will also house a Private Residences arm comprising 107 villas and 80 luxury residences.

Villas will feature a contemporary design, floor-to-ceiling windows, rooftop gardens, limestone finishings and private pools.

Restaurant and bar options will include a waterfront restaurant at the centre of the hotel as well as several private dining, al fresco, international and Egyptian-inspired outlets spread out across the resort.

There will also be a standalone spa and fitness facility home to private treatment rooms, tennis and multi-sport courts, guided group classes and state-of-the-art fitness equipment.

Four Seasons said the hotel would give guests and residents access to the ancient metropolis of Cairo as well as New Cairo Capital, the modern extension of the capital city, which features restaurants, golf courses and retail outlets.

Four Seasons Hotel Luxor is also expected to open in 2025. The property will be located on the River Nile in the south of Egypt, just south of the Luxor Temple, which dates back to 1400 BC.

The hotel will feature 200 guest rooms and suites with views of the River Nile, the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.

There will be several restaurant and bar outlets, a spa, a fitness facility, multiple pools, luxury retail, a Kids For All Seasons programme and a centre for young adults.

The two new hotels mark the latest phase of strategic growth for Four Seasons in Egypt, following the multi-million-dollar property enhancements at Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Sharm El Sheikh.

The recent renovations saw the long-standing property double in size, with new accommodations, restaurants, recreational facilities and meeting spaces added.

Four Seasons operates three other hotels in Egypt: Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, and Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano.

The addition of the two new hotels will bring the brand’s total number of properties in the destination to six.

“Egypt is an important destination in Four Seasons history, as it marked our brand’s entry into the Middle East 22 years ago,” said Bart Carnahan, president of global business development and portfolio management.

“Our continued expansion illustrates our ongoing commitment to the region, and all that it has to offer for luxury travellers and homeowners. TMG has long been an integral development partner for our projects in Cairo at Nile Plaza, Alexandria at San Stefano and Sharm El Sheikh. We are thrilled to continue our exceptional work together, providing guests and residents in Egypt with unmatched luxury experiences through our collection of new hotel and residential offerings.”
