Etihad partners with Armani on business-class amenities

Business-class passengers travelling with Etihad Airways from December will be treated to a new collection of crockery and sleepwear designed exclusively by Giorgio Armani.

The airline has partnered with the Italian designer’s interior design brand, Armani/Casa, to launch The Constellation Collection, which includes ceramics, glassware, cutlery and serving ware, as well as a matching pillowcase and duvet set.

The collection was inspired by the stars, with products embellished with a unique geometric pattern.

The colour palette reportedly reflects the surroundings of Abu Dhabi, with dark green inspired by the region’s date palm trees, aquamarine representing the mangroves and slate to symbolise the modernity of the skyline.

The use of multiple textures also represents the cultural diversity of the UAE, Etihad said.

Tableware has been designed in line with the airline’s commitment to sustainability, using durable material and an innovative design to reduce equipment weight by up to 10%, resulting in less fuel burn and fewer emissions.

Alongside the new pillowcase and duvet, guests on longer flights will also benefit from the airline’s new memory foam matress for additional comfort.

Etihad’s group chief executive officer Tony Douglas said: “Today we unveil a completely new and elevated way to fly with Etihad Airways – an experience defined by our Emirati heritage yet shaped by a clear vision for our future. Known globally for its Italian luxury and elegance, Armani/Casa is the ideal brand partner to create an unparalleled level of bespoke service and refinement for our guests.”
