Emerald Cruises christens ninth river ship

Emerald Cruises’ ninth river vessel Emerald Luna has been christened at a ceremony in Amsterdam.

The 180-passenger ship will sail on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

The introduction of Emerald Luna follows the company’s first ocean-going luxury yacht, Emerald Azzurra, entering into service in May to be followed by sister ship Emerald Sakara in 2023.

Global brand and marketing director David Winterton said: “The addition of Emerald Luna allows us to offer more sailings on our most popular river itineraries in Europe.

“By launching Emerald Cruises’ ninth luxury Star-Ship, Emerald Luna, we will offer guests more itineraries and more choice across Europe’s most iconic waterways.

“We are incredibly excited to work together with travel agents and create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our guests.”
