Conrad Maldives reveals new underwater residence

gination:none;mso-layout-grid-align:none; text-autospace:none">Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has released the first images of its new undersea residence.

The resort is investing $15 million to develop the unique underwater suite, set to open at the end of the year.

The residence, named The Muraka which means coral in local language Dhivehi, will be split across two levels with the top level above the sea. It will be big enough to sleep nine people.

The above-sea area has a king bedroom and bathroom, a twin bedroom with bathroom, living room, kitchen and a deck that faces the sunset, complete with an infinity pool. It also has a gym and butler’s quarters.

The undersea level, five metres below the sea level, has a king bedroom, living area and a bathroom.

It will feature three bedrooms, (one of which will sit five metres below sea level), living area, bathroom, gym, butler’s quarters, private security quarters and kitchen. The innovative suite will also have a relaxation deck which faces in the direction of sunrise and features an infinity pool.

Pricing for The Muraka is yet to be announced
