Como Hotels and Resorts adds first French property

Como Hotels and Resorts is to open its first property in France in 2022.

Como Le Montrachet will be located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet in the sought-after Côte-d'Or region of Burgundy, offering access to some of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards, canals and historical sites.

Together with private equity firm Olma Luxury Holdings, the Como Group has acquired historic 18th-century property Hotel Le Montrachet, which it will renovate ahead of a phased reopening. Phase one is scheduled to be completed in 2022, with the hotel evolving “judiciously” over the years to come.

The property currently features four heritage buildings which will be transformed into 31 rooms and suites, restaurants and a signature Como Shambhala Retreat.

The Como Group will once again team up with Italian designer Paola Navone on the refurbishment project.

Como Le Montrachet will mark the brand’s second property in Europe, joining Como Castello Del Nero in Tuscany, which was also designed by Navone.

A statement from the brand said the hotel forms part of its “continued global expansion” and will be one of the first international luxury hotel brands in the Burgundy region - an area notoriously difficult for hoteliers to access.
