Celebrity Cruises unveils Celebrity Ascent entertainment offering

Celebrity Cruises has unveiled the entertainment offering that will feature on new ship Celebrity Ascent.

The fourth vessel in the line’s Edge class will stage three new theatre shows: Awaken, a performance about dreams; Residency, a production inspired by Las Vegas residencies celebrating artists such as Elvis, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars; and Bridges, a show about human connection set against some of the world’s most famous bridges.

Passengers are invited to wear metallic clothing during Ascent After Dark: Shine the Night, a “nightlife experience” where the ship’s Resort Deck will become a stage for a prism light show and DJ set.

At Eden, acrobats, singers and dancers will perform three shows featuring interactive games and and music, while in The Club passengers can listen to live jazz music or watch old Hollywood-themed immersive performance Smoke & Ivories.

The ship, which is scheduled to enter service in December, will also offer gaming and interactive activities including 80s-inspired competition Game On: Augmented Multiplayer Experience, singalong party Guilty Pleasures, and sketch art classes.

Vice-president of entertainment Lisa Lehr said: “We embraced the opportunity with Celebrity Ascent to take our entertainment offering to an even higher level for our guests, handpicking the best creative minds to deliver a world leading programme that solidifies Celebrity’s reputation for onboard entertainment that stuns.

“We are so excited to show guests how our new entertainment offering can enrich their holiday in ways they’ve never experienced before.

“With elements our guests love plus some new surprises, Ascent offers something for everyone and adds to the memories they will have for a lifetime.”
