Celebrity Cruises senior account manager leaves in sales team shake-up

Celebrity Cruises has confirmed that strategic account manager Bhavneeta Taylor has left the line in a sales team shake-up.

Celebrity will be announcing its new sales team structure “in the forthcoming weeks”.

The shake-up comes as new 2,900-passenger ship Celebrity Edge is being showcased to the trade and media at a series of inaugural events in Florida.

Celebrity Cruises’ UK, Ireland and Asia vice president and managing director Jo Rzymowska said: “I can confirm that Bhav has chosen to take redundancy based on a sales restructure that we are undertaking as we plan for future growth.

“Bhav has been a great member of the team and we are sorry to see her go and wish her all the best for the future.”

She added that no other members of the team were leaving.

Celebrity Cruises later released a statement saying the line is “currently working through a sales team restructure, aligning the team with their growth strategy across the UK & Ireland.”

It added: “As a result of this, Bhavneeta Taylor has decided to pursue other career opportunities outside of Celebrity Cruises. Bhav has been a great ambassador for the brand and the sales team is focused on continuing Bhav’s hard work and passion as we evolve to embrace the next stage of our growth.”

Taylor was with the cruise line for five years having previously worked as a key account manager at Thomas Cook.

Meanwhile, Celebrity Cruises has revealed Celebrity Edge will offer a full season of sailings in the eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic in summer 2020.

The 2,908-passenger vessel, which launched this month, will sail ten and 11-night itineraries, visiting the Amalfi Coast, Malta and the Greek Islands.

Edge will join sister ship Apex, and four other Celebrity vessels – Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Infinity – in Europe for the season.

Celebrity Apex will sail five cruises to the Mediterranean and northern Europe from Southampton in 2020.

The line will also return to Turkey, offer a mini-season from Lisbon and visit 90 ports across 27 European countries.

Celebrity Infinity will be based in Lisbon for a mini-season before re-positioning to Barcelona.

Morocco, a port which Celebrity has not visited since 2016, has been added to Infinity’s transatlantic crossing itinerary.

Celebrity Constellation, one of the line’s ships to enter drydock for a revamp as part of the $500million Celebrity Revolution programme, will sail nine or 10-night itineraries in Italy and Greece.

Celebrity Silhouette, another ship to undergo refurbishment, will operate seven to 14-night sailings from Southampton. The ship will also offer a new 10-night Capital Cities cruise.
