Celebrity Cruises donates £10,000 to Abta LifeLine

Celebrity Cruises has donated £10,000 to Abta LifeLine and has pledged a further £1 to the industry charity for every agent booking made this month as part of its Celebrity Loves Agents campaign.

The line said the donations would “help the charity continue its incredible work” and is “given in recognition to the vital role everyone played as the cruise industry resumed sailing last year”.

A series of fundraising initiatives will also take place this month to boost the final total.

Abta LifeLine raises funds to help those in the travel industry who lost their jobs or are facing other hardships.

Jo Rzymowska, Celebrity Cruises’ vice president and managing director, EMEA, said the line felt “privileged” to be supporting Abta LifeLine.

“Our donation and the £1 per travel agent booking scheme will help further this important cause and is given in grateful recognition of all of those who supported us as we returned to the water last year,” she added.

Derek Jones, chairman and trustee for Abta LifeLine, said: “The past two years have been an exceptionally difficult time for everyone in the travel industry and we have experienced an increased number of people contacting us for help.

“On behalf of Abta LifeLine and the individuals and families that we support, we would like to thank Celebrity Cruises for its donation which will go far in helping those at the heart of our industry as we rebuild.”

Agents will earn £10 for each Balcony and Concierge stateroom booking they make during wave.

They will earn £20 when they make an Aqua Class booking and £25 for each booking in The Retreat they make.

A suite of sales and marketing toolkits, with selling guides, ‘social-ready content’, and digital banners, has been added to trade platform Celebrity Central to help agents maximise their sales.

More assets will be added to Celebrity Central as the line’s launches its multi-million pound cross channel marketing campaign on TV and other digital channels. The marketing campaign runs until March 2022.
