Azamara marks return to Africa and South America

Azamara is returning to South Africa and South America this autumn for the first time since before the pandemic hit in early 2020.

Azamara Journey will embark on six back-to-back South Africa cruises, while Azamara Pursuit will sail along South America’s coastline, including a stop in Rio de Janeiro in time for Brazil’s Carnival festivities.

Azamara Journey will return to Cape Town on December 20 to conclude a 21-night western Africa cruise.

Azamara Pursuit goes back to South America on a 16-night sailing from Lisbon to Rio De Janeiro on November 30.

The small ship line’s South America itineraries also cover the Antarctic Peninsula, as well as the Beagle Channel and the  Strait of Magellan, with stops in the Falkland Islands.

Azamara strategic itinerary and destination planning director  Michael Pawlus said: “With the travel and cruising industries continuing to take significant steps forward, we are thrilled to bring our guests deeper to explore even more hidden gems of the world on our four ships.

“Both South Africa and many South American countries are bucket-list travel destinations for travellers, and we look forward to our guests discovering the rich culture and local life of these unique destinations.”
