Experienced cruise industry figure Andrew Magowan is returning to the sector to lead European sales efforts for reborn luxury line Crystal Cruises.
He has been appointed vice president of sales for the UK and Europe under the new ownership of A&K Travel Group.
Magowan confirmed his new role on social media ahead of the relaunch of the ships Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony after they were acquired last summer following former owner Genting Hong Kong filing to be wound up a year ago.
He will be working with a team of sales and marketing staff responsible for opening up and growing trade distribution throughout Europe.
Magowan said on LinkedIn: “I am truly delighted to announce and share my news that I am heading up the commercial team for the re-launch of Crystal Cruises in UK & Europe.
“This is beyond exciting and huge thanks to the SLT [senior leadership team] at Crystal,” he added, name checking president Jack Anderson.
“Watch this space and for updates,” Magowan concluded.
His new role at Crystal Cruises follows several senior executive appointments confirmed before Christmas.
Magowan has worked for a number of cruise lines including Norwegian Cruise Line, Cunard, Swan Hellenic, Seabourn, SeaDream Yacht Club, Hurtigruten, Ponant and Celestyal Cruises.
