About Lynn Narraway

Lynn Narraway’s career spans most sectors of the travel industry including retail, tour operating, airlines and of course cruising.

After completing a B Soc Sc degree at Birmingham University, Lynn worked for Kuoni, in retail Travel, then for American Airlines, British Airways Holidays and ILG before joining one of the UK’s largest cruising general sales agents, where she gained experience in the sales and marketing of a wide range of different cruise companies.  In January 1999, the business was purchased by Carnival Corporation and Lynn was employed to head this new UK office as Managing Director UK of Holland America Line and Carnival Cruise Lines, based near Tower Bridge in London.

In November 2011, Lynn was promoted and appointed as Managing Director of Seabourn and Holland America Line’s joint office, based at Carnival House in Southampton, alongside sister Carnival UK brands P&O cruises, Princess Cruises and Cunard.

For two years Lynn acted as Chair of the CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) Executive Committee, and continues to sit on this working group.  She is also involved in the CLIA PR Working Group, of which she has also been chair. The aim of CLIA is to grow the cruise industry in the UK & Ireland and encourage more people to cruise more often, with the collaboration of all member cruise lines, therefore Lynn also works closely with the other Carnival-owned brands on joint sales and marketing initiatives, both to the travel trade and consumers. Lynn was awarded with the CLIA Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013, and also voted as one of the top 60 women in the travel industry in 2014 by the AWTE (the Association of Women Travel Executives).  She also received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Cruise Industry’ award at the 2019 British Cruise Awards.

Lynn conscribes to the concept of “giving something back”.  She is an active Lord’s Taverner and wherever possible uses her high profile business connections to good effect, particularly by working with key travel partners to donate auction prizes to the Lord’s Taverners Organisation and raise funds to help disadvantaged children.  She is proud to have been involved with the donation of two 16-seat wheelchair accessible minibuses, the first in 2015, to the Lavinia Norfolk Centre at the Angmering Secondary School in Littlehampton, West Sussex and the second (in 2018) for the Park School in Kilmarnock, Scotland, with funds for both vehicles raised by Seabourn via the Lord’s Taverners charity.

Her work approach is one of collaborative team style and relationship management. Lynn has mentored many young people over the years both within the company but also by encouraging and following work experience students. She has also lectured at a number of Universities and attends career forums at schools sharing her knowledge of the cruise and travel industry and sales and marketing skills. She stays in touch with many of her mentees.

Lynn is married with two daughters, one working and one at Bristol University and she loves to visit them as well as enjoying tennis, ice-skating, cycling and time with friends.
