Wine and history-themed sailing to feature in Emerald Cruises’ 2024 programme

Emerald Cruises has introduced a new 2024 river sailing focusing on wine and history.

The line said the 11-day Rhine Castles and Moselle Vineyards itinerary will give passengers the chance to “grab a behind the scenes tour of the acclaimed Schloss Johannisberg vineyard, as well as exploring a host of historic homes, fortifications and monuments on the way”.

Starting in Amsterdam, the sailing will call at ports in the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland before concluding in Basel.

Excursions include a guided tour of the Kinderdijk Windmills, visit to Marksburg Castle, walking tour of Bernkastel, guided tour of Cochem, visit to Reichsburg Castle, and canal boat tour in Strasbourg.

The lead-in price for the itinerary is £2,985, including 10 nights on board an Emerald Cruises ship, meals, drinks with lunch and dinner, airport transfers to and from the ship, a cruise director, port taxes and charges and gratuities.
