Uniworld names first winner of spot on ultra-luxury India showcase

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced the winner of its January competition giving agents the chance to secure a place on a seven-night ultra-luxury showcase in India.

Samantha Bates from Delmar World was selected from a prize draw after she made bookings with the operator in January.

She will join a total of 50 agents on the June fam trip and spend two nights in Delhi, one night in Agra and one night in Jaipur staying at Oberoi Hotels, before transferring to the Ganges Voyager II for a three-night sailing along the Ganges River.

“I am thrilled to win this once in a lifetime opportunity and so glad our bookings in January helped towards winning this spot,” Bates said.

“India has been a destination I have always dreamed of visiting and I can’t wait to visit and travel in luxury with Uniworld.”

Two more agents will win places on the fam trip. To enter, agents must make two bookings with the operator in either January or March, with India bookings counting for two entries. Uniworld will draw winners at random at the end of each month.

Chris Townson, managing director of the UK and Europe, said he is “hugely excited” for the trip.

“This is going to be the trip of a lifetime,” he told a Travel Weekly webcast.

“There has been huge engagement from the trade; agents have been calling us and communicating with the team and we’re so pleased for Sam from Delmar for winning the January prize.”
