Travelopia acquires escorted golf specialist Kalos

Travelopia has acquired escorted specialist Kalos Golf.

Kalos, which is headquartered in the US, was founded in 1994 by Jim Lamont as a new concept in travel dubbed ‘the golf cruise’.

Chartering boutique ships, Kalos began by hosting country club members on what it called a ‘private golf club afloat’, escorting guests to some of Europe’s top courses and destinations.

Kalos offered 20 itineraries in 2024 and a spokesperson said its proposition has been “continuously enhanced, expanding the selection of uniquely designed itineraries to the finest golf and touring destinations worldwide”.

The brand, which does not sell through the trade, provides “exceptional five-star service on private charter by sea, air, and land while expertly catering to non-golfing guests”, added the spokesperson.

Andy Duncan, Travelopia chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kalos to the Travelopia Group. Jim and his team have created a unique proposition for golfers over the last 30 years to become the market leader in luxury escorted golf tours.

“Delivering amazing golf experiences and brilliant customer service has created impressive loyalty. I look forward to working with Jim and the team to support the next phase of their growth journey.”

Lamont, said: “It is exciting for us to be a part of the Travelopia Group. We look forward to collaborating with and growing alongside our new partner brands as we all strive to deliver exceptional travel experiences for our guests.”
