Travel Counsellors creates knowledge manager role to support homeworkers

Dave Gash has been recruited by Travel Counsellors in a newly-created role as knowledge manager in the company’s support division.

He joins the homeworking firm with experience from roles in higher education and telecoms.

The new role is part of the company’s strategy to support the growth of individual Travel Counsellor businesses.

The appointment follows the latest support survey which rated satisfaction levels at 81%, the highest in the last quarter.

Gash said: “I’m delighted to join Travel Counsellors to support the ongoing development of the vast vault of travel and business knowledge housed within a global, connected community.

“My goals are to ensure that the shared knowledge and expertise we have can be readily accessed, structured and digested in detail in the best formats for learning, feature super responsive and intuitive search functions, and crucially, that accessibility is considered throughout the design and development process with a multi-media approach.

“I’m eager to support Travel Counsellors corporate and leisure travel business owners to grow their businesses through access to a global knowledge platform that features emerging technologies such as AI, where it has a natural fit, and retain the personal, human touch.

“The wealth of knowledge housed within the TC community is built on real-life travel experiences and learned business success.”

Customer operations director Claire Hill said: “As we remain focussed on making the experiences of both our Travel Counsellor business owners, and their customers, the very best they can be, we are utilising Dave’s expertise to boost the performance of our knowledge bank, all while scaling with intimacy.

“This ensures it supports individual business growth, provides the most relevant answers quickly and efficiently, and further facilitates the opportunity to ‘Ask the community’, tapping into a global network of travel entrepreneurs who are eager to support each other to create highly personalised travel experiences for their customers.”
