Travel counsellor makes £100k worth of Celebrity Cruises bookings in 24 hours

A travel counsellor has secured more than £100,000 worth of Celebrity Cruises bookings over a 24-hour period.

Clare Hyatt, based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, last month booked 23 customers on Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Apex for 2024 sailings.

Celebrity Cruises opened pre-registration for Celebrity Apex’s 2024 programme on November 1, allowing agents to line up bookings when it opened for sale two weeks later on November 15. The line achieved record booking volumes on the day as its 2024-25 programme went on sale.

Hyatt said: “My customers were really chuffed, especially the Apex customers because they were new. One was impressed that I had got up early.

“I knew my customers wanted corner suites at the back of the ship. Travel counsellors generally will check in people in the middle of the night. I often must get up early to look after our customers.”

Hyatt said she has achieved her “best year ever” in terms of turnover, securing around £2 million worth of sales. “I normally turnover around £1.3 million, £1.4 million,” she said.

Although Hyatt will have to wait until autumn 2024 to receive her commission for the Apex bookings, she has received £250 through the Celebrity Beyond sales she made.

The line offered agents up to £50 Celebrity Rewards points in exchange for any Celebrity booking between November 1 and December 5.

“I’ve spent the £250 bonus on Christmas presents for my three kids who are aged 27, 25 and 21,” she said. “You get it instantly so that was a nice bonus.

“The Apex booking were for sailings in September and October 2024 so I have to wait until they’ve sailed to get the commission.”
