Trailfinders has opened its 42nd store in Tunbridge Wells and plans to add another to its retail network this year.
An “experienced start-up team” of five staff, all of whom have been with the business for at least four years, are currently working in the new shop in Kent.
The tailor-made specialist said three new starters were in the middle of its six-week training programme and would join the new Travel Centre in mid-September.
The shop, which opened last week, is part of a “longer-term approach to expand” the number of Trailfinders shops, the firm said.
Stephen Rome, general manager at the Tunbridge Wells store, said: “I have a lot of family ties to Tunbridge Wells so was thrilled to have led the opening of Trailfinders newest Travel Centre in this great town.
“Our experienced start-up team have already welcomed many clients through the doors with plenty of exciting trips already being booked to destinations near and far.
“All of our consultants are incredibly passionate about travel and looking forward to seeing more of you in the coming days and weeks to help with whatever plans you may have.”
Trailfinders also confirmed plans to open a new shop in Southampton in 2022.
Asked about the current recruitment climate, a Trailfinders spokesperson said hiring new workers across the business was going well.
The spokesperson said new starters were “attracted by strong remuneration packages, reputation and financial security”.
The business has awarded staff a 10.1% pay rise to help cope with rising inflation.
“Recruitment is going well with a greater number of recruits coming from other travel companies attracted by our strong remuneration packages, reputation and financial security,” said PR and marketing assistant manager Rebecca Buttall.
“We continue to recruit for Travel Centres across the UK and Ireland, welcoming applications from those with a passion for travel.”
