Starwood’s The Luxury Collection is to open the group’s first?high-end?hotel in Tokyo.

The Prince?Gallery Tokyo Kiocho is part of the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho development and becomes the group's second in Japan after?Suiran in Kyoto opened last year.

Global brand director Meredith Dichter said: “With more than 100 hotels in more than 30 countries, the growth of The Luxury Collection reflects the heightened demand for experiential luxury travel. “The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho allows global explorers a unique way to discover this ever-dynamic capital city.”?

Part of the central Chiyoda municipality, the hotel is close to diverse attractions, including Shimizudani Park and Benkei Canal. Nearby, Akasaka Mitsuke metro station connects to the popular districts of Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya. Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport (HND) and Narita International Airport (NRT) are 45 and 90 minutes away by road, respectively.

Designed by Rockwell Group Europe, The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho is a contemporary hotel inspired by the sprawling sky and kaleidoscopic colours of the surrounding city. It is on the 30th to 36th floors and has 250 guestrooms, including 11 suites.

There are four restaurants and bars, including Oasis Garden, an all-day dining venue with a sky garden setting; Washouku Souten, a Japanese restaurant with a contemporary dining room, sake bar, teppanyaki area, sushi counter and private dining room; Levita Sky Gallery Lounge, a sophisticated lounge serving tea, light snacks and cocktails and illumiid THE BAR, a signature bar located on the 35th floor with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Other facilities include the Kioi spa and fitness centre, operated by Swiss Perfection, which has a large indoor pool, spa treatments, a sauna, and personal training, as well as a state-of-the-art business centre.

The adjacent Akasaka Prince Classic House, a western-style building completed in 1930 and the former residence of the last crown prince of Korea, is now home to La Maison Kioi, a modern French bistro; and the cosy Bar Napoleon.
