Six Senses Comporta will feature a 70-room hotel and 58 branded residences
Six Senses has unveiled plans to open its second property in Portugal in 2028.
Six Senses Comporta will be set within the 400-hectare Pinheirinho estate, which is 90 minutes south of Lisbon.
The property will be composed of a 70-room hotel and 58 branded residences. The hotel will feature 66 deluxe guest rooms, three garden villas and a presidential villa, while the residences will range in size from two to five-bedroom options.
As well as access to a dedicated owners’ lounge, residents will also be able to use the hotel’s amenities. Among these will be the brand’s signature spa, which will feature a gym, yoga studio, pool, sauna and steam room, as well as a treatment building offering wellness therapies and longevity programmes.
Six Senses Comporta will also have a range of dining options, including a main restaurant that will focus on seasonal ingredients, and a pool bar and grill. There will also be a wine bar, deli cafe, and Chef’s Table venue that will host cookery classes.
A central pathway, known as the ‘Path of Life’, will weave through the property, connecting the dedicated children’s area, vegetable garden and Earth Lab, which will run workshops to promote eco-friendly practices.
Six Senses has partnered with Portuguese real estate firm Vic Properties to complete the project.
Neil Jacobs, Six Senses’ chief executive, said: “Our design approach is about creating spaces that connect people to nature as part of our overall hospitality ethos. Where better to start than by embracing the land’s natural contours of pine forests and sand dunes while drawing on quirks of Comporta, traditions of the Alentejo region, reinterpretation of Portuguse classics, and Six Senses touches that show luxury doesn’t have to be taken too seriously.”
João Cabaca, co-founder and chief executive of Vic Properties, added: “We are thrilled and honoured to welcome Six Senses to our property in Comporta, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter, reflecting our shared commitment to preserving the rich heritage of this beautiful region.
“Together we envisioned building a lasting legacy, one that not only respects the land, but also ensures a sustainable future for the estate for generations to come. This is just the start of a journey rooted in respect, authenticity and connection. We look forward to sharing this unique destination with the world.”
