Six Senses announces new openings in Saudi Arabia, Kyoto and Lisbon

Six Senses has announced new openings in Saudi Arabia, Kyoto and Lisbon for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea will mark the brand's first foray into Saudi Arabia when it opens at the end of 2023.

The desert resort will feature villas with panoramic views, an all-day dining restaurant, a central Oasis area featuring a lobby lounge, boutique, meeting spaces and Earth Lab, and an Artisan Village themed around the region’s cultural heritage.

A signature Six Senses Spa will meanwhile offer an anti-ageing centre, grooming centre and sensory suite, alongside several outdoor treatment cabanas.

The new venture will be followed by the opening of Six Senses Kyoto in 2024, marking another first for the brand as it enters Japan.

The 81-room property will sit across from the Myoho-in temple, close to the Gion district, with a central courtyard, spa centred around Japanese Zen culture and décor inspired by the locale. Facilities will include an all-day restaurant, specialty sushi venue, brew bar and cocktail bar, with arts, crafts and wellness activities on offer for families.

A third property is set to open in Portugal in 2025, set within the converted Palácio Lavra and Palácio das Pedrosas in Lisbon. The group’s second property in the country, the hotel will be home to 114 rooms – including suites featuring private kitchens and al fresco terraces – plus a private garden with glass atrium, an organic restaurant, lively lounge bar, greenhouse bar and all-day coffee shop.

Its 1,000 sq m spa will meanwhile feature eight treatment rooms, a fitness centre, dance studio, yoga pavilion and juice bar, with therapies and programmes in line with the brand’s signature wellness offering.
