Lodge in the Okavango Delta will open in 2026
Singita is set to open its first property in Botswana in the summer of 2026.
Singita Elela Lodge will be set within the Okavango Delta, giving guests exclusive access to more than 170,000 hectares of protected wilderness.
The property will be open year-round and is named after the Setswana word for ‘flow’.
Georgie Pennington, Singita’s group head of creative direction, said: “Elela is the latest addition to Singita’s collection, and its goal is to open guests’ eyes completely to nature’s vastness, diversity and wonder. Surrounded for miles by only primal earth and water, it feels far away from everything yet incredibly close and connected to nature.
“Instead of trying to compete with nature, we drew inspiration from it, particularly in that we’re only using what we need, without getting in the planet’s way.
“The Okavango Delta is complex, ever-changing and singular in terms of beauty and biodiversity. Drawing inspiration from this unique landscape, Singita Elela’s story and design are heavily influenced by the concept of ‘flow’, the natural rhythm of time and the ebb and flow of water.”
Singita Elela Lodge will join the brand’s collection of properties across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Rwanda.
