Scenic unveils European city stay extension programme

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has unveiled a new programme of city stay extensions offering passengers longer pre or post-cruise city breaks in Europe.

Customers booking before June 29 can save up to £2,600 per couple.

Pre or post-cruise stays are available in several European cities, such as Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Prague, Ljubljana, Zagreb, and include accommodation, transfers, tours and meals.

Passengers on the 18-day Jewels of Europe with Ljubljana and Zagreb itinerary can opt to spend five days staying in the two cities.

In Zagreb, passengers will visit the Unesco World Heritage-listed Plitvice National Park, while in Lubljana, customers will take a guided tour on the Ljubljanica River and a trip to Lake Bled.

Passengers will then travel to Budapest to begin the cruise along the Danube, Main and Rhine Rivers, calling at Vienna, Dürnstein, Melk, Salzburg, Regensburg, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Würzburg, Miltenberg, Rüdesheim, Cologne before finishing in Amsterdam.

Prices start from £5,810 based on an October 14 departure on board Scenic Jade.

Customers on the Delightful Douro with Madrid itinerary can spend four days pre-cruise stay in Madrid staying at the five star Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques hotel.

Passengers will visit the city’s Austrian Quarter, Sabatini Gardens and Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains before flying to Porto and boarding Scenic Azure on the Douro River.

The itinerary includes guided tours of Lamego and Salamanca, food tasting in the Côa Valle, and wine tasting on the Quinta da Aveleda estate.

The 11-day cruise calls at Regua, Vega de Terron, Pocinho and Pinhão before returning to Porto.

Prices start from £4,281 based on an October 14 departure.
