Rosewood London recruits new managing director

Rosewood London has recruited experienced hotelier Tessa Gorman as its new managing director.

Gorman will commence the role on January 1 and will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel operations.

Gorman has nearly 20 years’ experience in the luxury travel sector, having previously worked for brands including Aman, Bvlgari and Cheval-Blanc.

She most recently held general manager positions at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro, Bvlgari Resort Bali and Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Thailand.

Prior to this, she acted as a hospitality consultant for brands, working on property launches from an operational perspective and managing ultra-luxury villa properties.

Rosewood London recently celebrated its milestone 10th anniversary with a series of partnerships to mark the occasion. Since opening in 2013 it has played a significant part in the London hospitality scene, introducing legacy activations such as The Pie Room and the Art Afternoon Tea.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Tessa to the Rosewood family and to continue the success of Rosewood London in the UK,” said Victor Clavell, senior vice president of operations, EMEAC.

“Tessa brings with her robust experience in luxury hospitality, and we’re confident she will be a great asset to the team.”

Gorman added: “I am thrilled to be joining the Rosewood family, a brand I have long admired, as managing director of Rosewood London. I am incredibly proud to be a part of this beautiful historic property, which has become an integral part of London life.

“After 17 years, I am returning to my home city, with its timeless blend of history and modernity and vibrant energy; and I look forward to joining the team as we continue to ignite the spirit of the destination into its next decade.”
