Regent Seven Seas appoints Caroline Smith as international MD

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ EMEA boss Graham Sadler is to retire from his position, with consumer marketing vice-president Caroline Smith taking on his responsibilities as part of a new international role.

Sadler, who was also responsible for driving sales in Latin America and Brazil, will continue to serve as corporate secretary for the line’s parent Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. He has held this role since 2016.

Smith has been appointed international managing director as part of the company’s management shake-up which also sees chief sales and marketing officer Andrea DeMarco take over as president.

Smith will lead the line’s growth strategy by overseeing sales and marketing for EMEA, Latin America, Brazil, and Asia-Pacific.

Smith joined the luxury line as head of marketing for EMEA and rose to her most recent position with the company, consumer marketing vice-president.

In her role, Smith managed the line’s consumer marketing strategy.

Sadler, who joined Regent in 2001, said: “It has been a privilege to lead the Regent Seven Seas Cruises business in EMEA, Latin America and Brazil and I am incredibly proud of all that our team has achieved during my 22 years with the company.  Together, we have successfully positioned the regions for future growth.”

Smith said: “Graham’s extensive experience and guidance has built an enviable operation in the EMEA region, and I look forward to building on this as we deliver our future growth plans around the globe.

“It’s an exciting time to lead our amazing teams in the international markets as we grow our fleet and welcome our newest ship Seven Seas Grandeur to the world’s most luxurious fleet in November of 2023.”

DeMarco said: “On behalf of the entire team at Regent Seven Seas Cruises we congratulate Graham on two decades of success and his exceptional contributions to the company.

“His passion and dedication helped him build a best-in-class team and I am excited to continue working alongside Caroline in her new international role.”
