Quark Expeditions has launched two new Arctic 2026 itineraries, including a total solar eclipse and tour of Iceland by helicopter.
The 13-day Iceland to Greenland Total Solar Eclipse voyage will be on board Ultramarine and depart Reykjavik on August 6, 2026, with prices leading in at £12,895.
Passengers will travel to East Greenland’s High Arctic to be able to see the longest duration of the eclipse in the world, at two minutes and 17.2 seconds.
The sailing will also be accompanied by two eclipse experts: author and science journalist David Baron and eclipse cartographer Michael Zeiler.
Baron said: “I am beyond thrilled to join the legendary Michael Zeiler and the best expedition team in the industry for this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
“This will be my tenth total solar eclipse, and to witness such a breath-taking phenomenon amidst the otherworldly beauty of the Arctic promises to be truly magical.
“Chasing eclipses is all about embracing life and appreciating the planet we inhabit. I can’t think of a better way to do either than with Quark Expeditions on this extraordinary trip.”
The voyage will also go through the Vestfjords in Iceland, the Northeast Greenland National Park to cruise the 110-kilometre King Oscar Fjord, Blomsterbugten or the Bay of Flowers, the Bjørne Islands and cross the Denmark Straight twice.
There will be an opportunity for passengers to see Greenland from the air on one of Ultramarine’s twin-engine helicopters.
The second new voyage for the Arctic 2026 season on Ultramarine will be the 12-day Iceland Circumnavigation: Helicopters, Glaciers and Volcanoes which will depart on July 27, 2026. Prices start at £10,635.
