One&Only has announced its first resort in Australia.

The 160 room One&Only Hayman Island is a private island resort opening in July 2014 after a multi-million dollar facelift of the property previously on the site.

The money has been invested in upgrading accommodation, new culinary options and a spa.

The spa incorporates the natural environment by utilising elements that are represented in the surrounding botanical gardens.

The resort caters to couples and families with clubs for children and teenagers and a separate family pool and children’s beach area.

There is also a new adult-only pool and a chill-out lounge.??

Hayman is the northernmost of the Whitsunday Islands in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, covering 726 acres and surrounded by a natural ecosystem of coral reef formations and diverse marine life.

Guests can explore the reef through programmes led by One&Only dive experts and marine biologists, as well as hiking and private island exploration.
