New Zealand lifts final Covid travel barrier

The final restriction on international travel to New Zealand has been removed.

Travellers flying to the country are no longer required to fill out a declaration form disclosing their Covid-19 vaccine status and travel history.

The change was confirmed in updated Foreign Office travel advice on Friday following the lifting of New Zealand’s Covid restrictions on September 13.

This means that there are no longer any requirements for travellers to be fully vaccinated in order to travel to New Zealand.

The New Zealand government said: “Travellers are no longer required to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration to enter New Zealand.

“New Zealand’s Covid-19 entry requirements were removed on 20 October.”

Travellers no longer need to test for Covid on arrival, prove their vaccination status or provide information for contact tracing to enter the country.

The country reopened is borders to international travellers in August for the first time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.
