Luxury agency Health Travel has partnered with private wellness testing provider PAAR London to offer clients pre-departure health and wellbeing assessments.
The partnership will enable the London-based agency to deliver home testing kits to travellers, assessing areas of health and wellbeing including food intolerances, mineral and metal toxicity, vitamin levels, microbiome and genetics, as well as testing biological age.
Testing is available as an additional service to the agency’s collection of luxury wellness holidays and retreats.
Wellness testing kits are shipped worldwide, with samples delivered to high-quality laboratories via a private courier service. Results are provided as a comprehensive report along with a private consultation.
Health Travel can then liaise with health specialists at its partner hotels to create individually customised programmes for guests. Follow-up wellness consultations can also be arranged by video call.
The agency said the comprehensive tests would act as a “supplement” to the global retreats and wellness resorts it partners with around the world and offer a “360-degree approach” to high-end holidays.
Health Travel co-founder Michael Oszmann said: “Wellness screenings provide deeply valuable insight into the personal health and wellbeing needs of an individual. Many of our clients at Health Travel opt for health and wellness screenings at the start of their retreat, exploring areas such as intolerances, gut health, genetic predisposition to certain diseases and more.
“We found we could maximise the impact of our wellness programmes even further if these insights were presented in the planning stages of the trip. With the results, we are able to work closely with doctors and experts at wellness resorts and health clinics to shape the experience before the client arrives.
“From the customised meal plans, therapies and length of stay, we can gain a much better understanding of how to effectively shape the programme. Consultations with a panel of experts also help to kickstart healthy lifestyle changes before our clients even jet off on their retreat, which makes it far more of a rewarding experience with long-term sustainable progress.”
Pre-departure wellness screenings must be booked within four to eight weeks prior to stay, depending upon the requirements for the testing package.
