Aspire’s parent company Jacobs Media Group is developing a partnership with a number of companies specialising in charity auctions and raffles to support causes contributing to the Ukraine relief effort.
In addition to its own charitable donation to the aid effort, JMG is to work with specialist companies MHI Travel Media, Omaze and Charity Buzz to source hospitality and travel inventory to raise funds for the International Medical Corp, British Red Cross and Unicef UK.
The funds will contribute to providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines, as well as supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities, with 100% of the proceeds going to the three charities.
JMG brands including Travel Weekly, Aspire, The Caterer and Connections will each encourage their communities to offer products which can be added to the listing, with a focus on premium and luxury product targeted at the specialists’ core databases.
Chairman Clive Jacobs said: “With travel being impacted so deeply during Covid, we understand that for some businesses monetary donations aren’t always possible.
“This campaign will be a means for travel and hospitality businesses to make a meaningful contribution to the Ukraine relief effort and support the charities providing much needed humanitarian aid.”
He added: “In the darkest times, we can see the best of humanity, and I have been pleased to see the willingness of the travel and hospitality industries to play their part in standing up to this unnecessary and unjustified invasion. I would urge all operators to consider what they can offer to this vital cause.”
