An industry husband and wife team are opening their first travel agency.

Vaycay Luxury Travel has been set up by Colin Pegler, chair of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation UK & Europe, and Paula Whitehead, formerly head of long-haul purchasing at British Airways Holidays.

The agency is being established in Witham in Essex and is due to open on January 4.

The couple are local residents and business owners with extensive experience in the international travel market.

Pegler has been managing director of Resort Marketing International for more than 20 years.

Travel consultant Christine Taylor-Higgs said: “I’ve spent many years working as a leading specialist tour operator focusing on weddings and honeymoons, and worked for two Caribbean tourist boards.

“Along with my highly experienced colleague Jo, we are so excited to help make our customers’ travel dreams come true.”
