Four Seasons Yachts’ vessels will be ‘remarkable engineering feat’
Four Seasons Yachts will push the boundaries of engineering, according to its chief executive.
Larry Pimentel said each vessel will boast two marina platforms to “engage the water like no one else”; high ceilings to “provide the graciousness of space”; vertical connection between decks to enable the creation of large “villas” for passengers travelling as extended groups of family or friends; a 20-metre pool; and a guest-to-space ratio that is “second to none”.
He added that the first ship would also be the first of any line where all the safety equipment and lifeboats are concealed behind “fashion plates” to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the yacht while still meeting all safety standards.
“It doesn’t look like most passenger ships and it doesn’t look like most yachts,” said Pimentel.
“It’s a remarkable engineering feat that is simply stunning.”
The yacht will have 95 “ultra suites” at the maximum capacity configuration, but will be able to reduce to 65 if guests want bigger accommodation, made possible by walls opening and floors moving to reveal spiral staircases to the deck below to create more space.
It is estimated that each suite will cost $4.2 million to build.
