Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh is set to double in size by the end of the year following a major expansion and enhancement project.
The 20-year-old property will grow from 22 hectares to 44 hectares, making room for new accommodations, five new food and beverage concepts and a new two-storey fitness centre.
A total of 89 accommodations will be added to the resort, including connecting rooms, one and two bedroom pool suites, residential-style villas and chalets, and a new beachfront Royal Suite. It will bring the hotel’s total to 169 rooms and 120 suites and chalets.
Updated restaurant options will bring the property’s total to 12, with new experiences including a pan-Asian concept featuring a teppanyaki bar; Lebanese dishes; and Mediterranean-Italian cuisine.
The expansion programme will also see the refurbishment of the hotel’s spa to feature 13 treatments rooms and a new 22-metre outdoor lap pool, as well as a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and boutique shop.
Three new outdoor swimming pools will bring the resort’s total to seven while four tennis courts, an indoor squash court and a beachside PADI dive centre with access to 76 Red Sea dive sites will also be introduced.
A new convention centre with more than double the resort’s event capacity will cater towards business meetings and destination weddings, with nine indoor and outdoor function areas offering space for up to 2,000 guests.
Younger guests will benefit from a new hub dedicated to children and teens, offering a daily schedule of games, arts and crafts, cultural immersion and active play.
“Since opening nearly 20 years ago, Four Seasons has been the leading luxury resort on the peninsula, a favourite holiday destination for families, friends and couples from across Europe and the Middle East,” said Simon Casson, president of hotel Operations, EMEA.
“Now as we embark on one of the company’s most ambitious expansion and enhancement programmes ever, Sharm El Sheikh is poised to become a truly world class destination for those who crave sun and sea in an authentic luxury setting that only Four Seasons can create.”
General manager Sam Ioannidis added: “We can’t wait to introduce this exciting destination to a new generation of travellers from around the world.
“For the many guests who come back again and again, we have so many surprises in store. Over the years we’ve watched families grow, celebrated important milestones together, set the stage for the most romantic moments, explored the abundant natural world and immersed ourselves in desert culture.
“Now we have the opportunity to offer our guests so much more, and our team is more dedicated than ever to ensuring that each and every stay with us is fully tailored and completely memorable.”
