Four Seasons opens new Napa Valley property

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley opened today, marking the brand’s first property to be set on a working vineyard.

Located in the town of Calistoga, California – around a 90-minute drive from San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento – the resort features 85 rooms, suites and private residences set around the Elusa Winery, a 4.7-acre organic vineyard within the Calistoga American Viticultural Area.

In partnership with local winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, guests will have the chance to get involved with the winemaking process – from harvesting and sorting to blending and ageing – with hands-on demonstrations, wine tasting sessions, opportunities to meet the producers and more.

Alongside the rooms and suites, the resort features a collection of farmhouse-style Private Retreats with open kitchens, a dedicated Four Seasons host and a resident chef available on request.

The property also boasts two pools, two restaurants, a spa, fitness centre and collection of indoor and outdoor spaces able to host weddings, meetings and other events.

It is being targeted at both couples and families, with adult-only and family pools, and a complimentary Kids for All Seasons programme. Children’s menus are available at the restaurants, which include TRUSS, serving modern cuisine in a vineyard setting, and the more casual Campo Poolside.

Guests get complimentary bike hire to explore the surrounding area, while Calistoga is on the doorstep and offers art galleries, artisan shops, farmers’ markets and more.

“We could not be more excited to welcome guests to Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley,” said general manager Mehdi Eftekari. “It’s been a long time coming, giving us the luxury of time to build a team of truly talented people and put together thoughtful programming that marries the best of the Napa lifestyle with Four Seasons excellence.”

Christian Clerc, president of global operations at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, added: “Napa Valley is one of the world’s most coveted wine destinations, so we knew we had to enter this market with a truly unparalleled offering – one that sets a new standard for modern luxury in the region.”
