Former Gold Medal boss Fisher invests in travel agency
Terry Fisher, who has been living and working in Los Angeles since he resigned from Thomas Cook in 2010, has invested in Zero Zero One Travel, a new travel retailing business set up ??by lifestyle concierge company One Hundred Concierge.
Fisher founded Travelworld in 1982 aged 19, grew it to 130 shops and sold it to Airtours in 1998.
He recently joined One Hundred Concierge, and Zero Zero One Travel now manages his overseas business and personal trips.
Impressed by their work, Fisher has invested an undisclosed sum in the business, which is based just off Oxford Street in London, offering his expertise to help it grow.
He said: “This new venture, which creates bespoke experiences to meet each client’s individual needs, is exactly what I was waiting for and I am delighted to help guide the expert management team to future growth and success.”
Fisher will sit on the board and act as an adviser to the founding management team, which includes owner Albert Oliver, who previously worked for Quintessentially sister company Quintessentially Automotive.
Oliver said: “We trust Terry’s advice and network will help us to continue to establish ourselves as a leading boutique travel agency.
Fisher added: “I’ve seen it happen all too often before. Small luxury businesses often become a victim of their own success, becoming too big to offer the same level of personalisation they once did.
