Former A&K stores general manager joins ultra-luxury travel firm

A former general manager of Abercrombie & Kent offices in Harrods and the City of London is joining ultra-luxury adventure travel firm Cookson Adventures.

Nick Davies moves from his most recent role as travel director at Air Charter Service to become projects and sales director at the company founded by adventurer and a Guinness World Record holding explorer Henry Cookson.

The appointment follows a claimed 33% increase in sales over 2017, with Davies tasked with continuing to drive international growth.

Davies, who started his career at Trailfinders, said: “The reputation of Cookson Adventures is unrivalled across the luxury travel industry, and I am looking forward to the challenge of promoting the company’s incredibly high standards.

“These are standards that have been developed over a decade of being at the forefront of the market and ones that need to be upheld to retain this position.

“We are therefore not resting on our laurels; we will continue to expand our network of international suppliers and experts, so we can continue to build trips that push the boundaries of travel for our global clientele.

“Clients come to Cookson Adventures expecting journeys that mix elegance, innovation and an unprecedented level of personalisation and it is my job to make sure that is delivered.”

CEO Adam Sebba added: “In light of impressive growth figures this year, it is timely to introduce someone of Nick’s pedigree to the business, given his successes across the travel sector.

“A decade on from Henry Cookson founding the business, our vision remains the same; to provide unique and elegant adventures to the curious and the daring.

“Nick’s knowledge of the industry and his fresh take on the ideas that we have will be integral to us in building on this vision, driving our expansion plans both in the UK market and internationally, where we have great aspirations.”
