First Raffles in Indian Ocean opens next month

The first Raffles resort in the Indian Ocean opens next month on the island of Praslin in the Seychelles.

The ultra-luxury villa resort is the first of its kind on the island.

Praslin is known for its beaches and clear waters and is also home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Vallée de Mai, which houses the endemic Coco de Mer palms.

It is an all pool villa resort made up of 86 one and two-bedroom villa suites that all have round-the-clock butler service.

The villas are built on gentle slopes, ensuring views of flora, fauna and the Indian Ocean.

All are equipped with WiFi internet access, 43-inch plasma television and DVD player, Nespresso coffee machines and the opportunity for in-room spa treatments.

A 500 metre private beach exclusively for residents overlooks Curieuse Island which is a National Marine Park.

The resort also has a spa with 13 treatment pavilions which are set among natural rock formations and high above the water.

Additional spa facilities include steam, sauna and a spa garden with a ‘movement pavilion’ for Yoga and Pilates.

For families there is a kids club offering an age appropriate ever-changing range of acitivities from arts and crafts to snorkelling with turtles.

There are a variety of eating options including private dining on the beach and on board a yacht.

And activities include diving, snorkelling, watersports, horse-riding, tennis and island hopping.
