Europe makes debut in Gold Medal luxury brochure

Trade-only tour operator Gold Medal has published its first Pure Luxury brochure since December 2019.

The 224-page brochure features hotels and itinerary ideas across the Indian Ocean, Arabia, the Caribbean, Far East, Africa, North America and Australasia – and introduces Europe for the first time. Agents will also find luxury cruise itineraries and multi-centre suggestions.

Luxury bookings have been the fastest growing sector for Gold Medal since travel restrictions began lifting last month.

In September they were 66% higher compared to August, with Dubai, Barbados, Mauritius and the Maldives performing most strongly.

These bookings helped ensure the final week of September was Gold Medal’s best period of trading since the start of the pandemic.

Nearly half (46%) of the luxury bookings taken were for departure in 2021.

Europe is a standalone product for the first time, with city destinations included to support the itineraries on offer with Pure Luxury’s sister Cruise Plus brand, alongside accommodation covering all holiday types.

Lisa McAuley, Gold Medal managing director, said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to put our new Pure Luxury brochure in the hands of agents just as we’re seeing a strong uptick in demand in luxury bookings.

“It’s very exciting to see the growth in demand for longer and more luxurious holidays, proof positive of a trend we’ve seen growing for some time now suggesting holiday-hungry consumers are desperate to make their next holiday extra-special and don’t want to wait until next year for it if possible.

“It’s a trend we’re helping agents to take advantage of with this brochure, and some phenomenal offers for 2021 and 2022 departures.”

Agents will be able to view the new brochure on Gold Medal’s website, and printed copies will arrive soon.

Gold Medal’s two other brochures, for Worldwide Holidays and the Cruise Plus sub-brand, will be published in in the coming months.
