Emirates to promote Western Australia as UK carryings rise

Emirates has forged a new collaboration with Tourism Western Australia following a surge in demand from UK visitors.

The partnership will see Emirates and Tourism Western Australia work together to raise the profile of the region through joint marketing campaigns.

The airline is expanding capacity on the Dubai-Perth route with a second daily service from December 1.

Emirates has seen UK passenger numbers rise by a quarter in the last year.

The UK is the largest source market for visitors to Western Australia with 111,000 arrivals to Perth in the year to September 2023, spending £170 million.

The duration of stays was extended from an average of 22 nights in pre-pandemic 2019 to 25 nights last year.

The airline also reported a 40% increase in business class bookings to Perth in 2023.

Emirates one-stop service to Perth competes with a Qantas non-stop connection from London and other carriers operating via the Middle East or Asia.
