Emirates scraps fuel surcharge

n airline recouping fuel costs by removing its surcharge altogether.

President Tim Clark said: “In line with the recent decrease in fuel prices Emirates has removed its fuel surcharge on all tickets.

“The removal ... reflects our long standing commitment to our customers ... that we would eliminate the surcharge as soon as it was commercially viable and this has now been done.”

The move came against a background of a decline in the price of Brent crude oil from about $126 a barrel last week to just $110.
