Emirates opens lounge for unaccompanied young travellers

Emirates has opened a newly upgraded lounge for unaccompanied child travellers at its Dubai hub.

Located next to Emirates’ first class lounge in Concourse B, the children’s facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It offers video games, drinks and snacks, seating areas, free wi-fi and washrooms designed for kids.

Emirates’ services for unaccompanied minors can be pre-booked for children aged five to 11 who are travelling without an adult. They must travel on an adult fare.

The service can be booked for children aged 12 to 15, at a cost of $50 for each leg of the journey.

Emirates’ airport team will check in the children for their flights in a special lounge area for unaccompanied minors, then escort them through immigration and security to the dedicated departure lounge in the airside concourse, and later, from the lounge to the boarding gate.
