Domes Resorts opens second property in Corfu

Domes Resorts is to open its second property in Corfu on July 1.

Domes of Corfu will be targeted at families and will join adults-only sister property Domes Miramare, a Luxury Collection Resort.

Situated on Corfu’s western coast on Glyfada beach, the property is a 20-minute drive from Corfu International Airport and the Unesco World Heritage Site of Corfu’s Old Town.

The hotel features 233 rooms and suites, each with its own private patio or veranda, as well as three pools, a Soma Spa, a kids’ club, four dining outlets and four bars.

The resort’s largest restaurant, Agora, serves traditional Mediterranean fare, while fine-dining spot Frourio offers Italian-Greek fusion food and Psarotaverva focuses on the fresh fish catch of the day.

At the heart of the hotel is Core Spianada, an open-air, multifunctional take on the Greek gathering place, agora, featuring pop-up retail shops, street food, art and events.

The property’s Haute Living Selection concept features a range of ‘ultra-luxe’ accommodations which come with bespoke offerings, a concierge service and access to an all-inclusive lounge.

Activites at Domes of Corfu include trekking tours of ancient sites, beach cruises and themed music events in association with the Ionian University of Music.

The property will join Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International’s portfolio of independent hotels. It marks Domes Resorts’ fifth property in Greece.

George P. Spanos, vice president of Domes Resorts, said: “We are excited to be opening our second Domes Resorts hotel on the beautiful island of Corfu.

“After the success of Domes Miramare Adults-Only Resort, we wanted to share our fondness for the island, its rich culture and wonderful people, with families as well.

“Our teams have gone above and beyond to ensure our guests a brand-new tailored experience that will leave an imprint on their family’s vacation and evoke blissful collective memories well into the future.

“After the year we have all undergone, we look forward to seeing the place come alive with the energy of our people and our guests as we continue to connect, grow, learn from each other and make memories together.”

Satya Anand, president for Europe, Middle East & Africa of Marriott International, added: “Greece is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and we are confident that the combination of Corfu’s natural beauty with Autograph Collection Hotel’s boutique design, will make Domes of Corfu one of the country’s leading leisure resorts.”

Rates at Domes of Corfu start from £245 per room per night.
