North London-based Colletts Travel is to reopen its high street store at the end of January following its closure due to the Covid pandemic.
The store has undergone a refurbishment, with dedicated travel planning lounges designed to “offer a premium and personalised experience” for clients.
Colletts Travel is part of Global Travel Collection UK (GTC UK), owned by Barrhead Travel parent company Internova Travel Group.
The company said the shop would serve as a hub for its currently home-based advisors, with support from its in-house ‘advisor success team’. Colletts also has a luxury tour operation, Colletts Collection, and said the move would allow more interaction between the operator’s team and advisors.
Travel advisors were given a private preview of the new-look store in December at an event attended by the company’s leadership team and co-founder and brand ambassador Roy Collett.
Francesca Mendola, vice-president of GTC UK, said: “Colletts Travel has experienced an increased interest from advisors who wish to work from the Hendon store, as they did pre-pandemic.
“This growing demand to reopen the store has been encouraging and reinforces the importance of both face-to-face booking interaction with luxury clients and our suppliers to increase educational partner learning, out of our north London location.
“Our company philosophy is ‘Go Human. Book Human’, and we feel it is essential for to invest in a space that advocates face-to-face bookings.”
The company has also launched a recruitment drive for in-house and independent travel advisors to join its team.
