Clia announces plans to run luxury cruise expo

Clia UK & Ireland is to run its first expo focused on premium and luxury cruising in Dover.

More than 80 delegates will be able to visit three ships over two days in August, with each vessel offering a different style of cruising and experience.

The expo will include business sessions, networking opportunities with cruise lines and businesses, a dinner and visits to Crystal Symphony, Holland America Line’s Ryndam and SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream 1.

Clia will announce details of the two-day event at this week’s Selling Cruise Conference.

UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer said: “Travel agents will have the rare opportunity to see, in one place, three very different ships within the premium and luxury range, ships which range in size from just 112 passengers to 1,260.

“By their nature, the smaller ships within the premium and luxury sector are able to visit different destinations in spectacular locations around the world.

“The onboard service is second to none, and when compared with land based holidays they just can’t be beaten.

“We want delegates to leave knowing they can confidently sell this sector with many of their customers being potential premium and luxury passengers.”
