Celebrity Cruises to ‘do better’ on destination experiences, new president says

Celebrity Cruises’ new president has pledged to improve the way the line offers bespoke destination experiences, saying the company can “do better”.

At an event in London on July 18, Laura Hodges Bethge revealed she wants to extend the “luxurious service” passengers receive on board to the shore.

“The brand’s vision is to keep customers as our north star, guiding us,” she said.

“We have five customer passion points which are the most important areas to our passengers: service, accommodation, food, destinations and entertainment.

“While we do the first three brilliantly, I think we can do better on the latter two.

“When a customer books a holiday, the first thing they think about is the destination and the second is how they are going to get there.

“We need to think about how to deliver a destination in a bespoke way and take the luxurious service we offer on board to the shore.”

She went on to say she plans to review the entertainment on board and in some cases “completely redo” shows and music.

“We want to own the night from an entertainment perspective and make sure the music in our venues is perfect and the shows we perform are amazing,” she added.
