Beyonce performance heralds opening of Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal

Music icon Beyonce gave her first full performance in more than four years at the opening of luxury Dubai hotel Atlantis The Royal.

Unconfirmed consumer media reports claimed she was paid $24 million for the hour-long show on Saturday.

The singer was accompanied by a 48-person all-female orchestra and a dance group from Lebanon.

The performance was followed by a fireworks and drone extravaganza, echoing a display that launched Atlantis The Palm in 2008.

Celerity guests in the audience included husband Jay-Z, as well as model Kendall Jenner, actress Rebel Wilson, singers Chloe x Halle, actress Letitia Wright and actor Winston Dukes.

Bookings are now open for the 795-room property for stays from February 10.

Atlantis Dubai managing director Tim Kelly said: “We’re delighted that global superstar Beyonce was here to launch this extraordinary resort in an unforgettable way – a true icon, launching an icon.

“We are excited to begin welcoming guests in February and treat them to an experience that will completely redefine their perspective of luxury.”
